Don’t forget about service when buying a boiler

News | 10.10.2020

The costs of heating, one of the fundamental items in the family budget, can be divided into two basic parts. They are the acquisition and operating costs. What do they include?

The acquisition costs represent the initial investment into the heating system, which consists in the price of the boiler, heating elements, connecting material, insulation, as well as installation and commissioning of the boiler. You need to expend the acquisition costs to be able to heat your house or apartment. The second, often underestimated costs are operating costs, incurred by the regular operation of the boiler. And that does not only include the cost of fuel. Every solid-fuel or gas boiler should be regularly serviced in annual intervals. You also need to add the cost of regular cleaning and revision of the flue gas pipes.

It Doesn't do to underestimate service

Underestimating service inspections is a common bad habit. Only a regularly cleaned and adjusted boiler can work in a reliable and safe way.

It is the same as with cars. A regularly serviced boiler has a much longer service life. Moreover, the cost of service is usually returned in the form of fuel savings, saved thanks to the efficient operation of the cleaned boiler. When buying a boiler, customers should also consider the availability of service, or a network of authorised service technicians.

THERMONA has been manufacturing boilers for more than 30 years. Our long history and good name is definitely an advantage because by having all our production facilities in the Czech Republic guarantees that our clients and service technicians do not have to wait for any spare part for a long time.

Bet on a well-established manufacturer

Smaller manufacturers have problems with availability of spare parts, especially when servicing older boilers. A boiler usually lasts for several decades and so it may happen that the boiler “survives its manufacturer”. That especially applies to not well-known foreign companies that are trying to establish themselves among prominent players on the market.

Despite that fact that we have started focusing on boilers using gas or electricity and we no longer manufacture solid-fuel boilers, we still keep large stocks of spare parts for models we stopped manufacturing several years ago. Servicing such boilers is an obligation we are committed to. We want our customers buy THERMONA boilers in the future and so we do not only offer quality products, but also professional post-warranty service.
